Welcome!

Welcome to Caius for Cambridge, an inside look at a summer in the United Kingdom. In this blog, I'll be documenting my time and experiences while studying at Gonville and Caius College (pronounced "keys") in Cambridge, England. I'll give you the Reader's Digest version of how this all came to be so as not to bore you with details that are really only exciting to me. Last fall my dear friend Caiti and I went to a study abroad fair and stumbled upon a booth advertising the UNH English Department's six week summer session in Cambridge, England. Sounds like fun, right? We sat on the grass in front of T-Hall on a sunny, fall afternoon, daydreaming of England in summertime. Many emails, applications and questions and discussions later, I'm booking a flight into Heathrow.

Living on the college's campus, I'll take two courses: Shakespeare and a history of British Monarchs from Henry VIII to Victoria (!). As if this isn't experience enough, I'll travel all over the country. Dover, London, Canterbury and even a weekend spent in Scotland. For all who decide to read my lovely journal, I'll be providing everything from my daily happenings in class and on campus to the humorous stories and incidents that are bound to take place. I leave for England on July 10Th so until then, I hope my background picture of Gonville and Caius found via Google search can satisfy your intense desire to live vicariously through me. Thank you.
